What is MacQuest: Discover your Campus, Discover your City?

MacQuest: Discover Your Campus, Discover Your City is on Monday August 31st and will consist of cool, interactive tours on and off campus meant to introduce you to McMaster and Hamilton Community. Some of these tours include:

• Food Tours on and off of campus

• Athletic and Recreation activities, including kayaking and water polo

• Health and Wellness activities, including yoga

• Multi Media tours, including a movie at 3D Origins Theatre, green screen interaction at

The Lyon’s Media Centre, and a movie at Westdale Theatre

• An Architecture Tour of historical buildings and sites in Hamilton

• A tour of Dundurn Castle

• A Waterfront Trolley Tour

• A Garden Party hosted by the Alumni Office, featuring Pactrick Dean.

• And much, much more!

Can I sign up for multiple MacQuest: Discover your Campus, Discover your City tours?

Unfortunetly, you can only sign up for one MacQuest tour. This is to make sure that every first year student gets the opportunity to register for their desired tour. If you do sign up for multiple tours, one will be assigned to you. However, students have the chance to change the tour they selected up until August 14th 2015. Review the descriptions of the tours to help you make your choice.

If I signed up for an Athletics and Recreational activity, can I still sign up for a MacQuest: Discover your Campus, Discover your City tour?

Unfortunetly, you can only sign up for one MacQuest tour or activity, and the Athletics and Recreational activities count as one MacQuest tour/activity. This is to make sure that every first year student gets the opportunity to register for their desired tour. If you do sign up for multiple tours, one will be assigned to you. However, students have the chance to change the tour they selected up until August 14th 2015. Review the descriptions of the tours to help you make your choice by clicking 'more info' under the ticket options.

Is my registration changeable?

Students have the opportunity to add or change their MacQuest tour booking up until August 14th 2015. After this, changes will not be made unless your tour is cancelled because of low registration. If your tour gets cancelled, you will be notified via email, and will be able to register for another tour.

What resources can I look at to help me decide on a tour?

There are many different kinds of tours being offered, which can seem overwhelming. To make up your mind, please click on each of the options to be taken to a description of each of the tours. Why are there multiple versions of the same tours being offered?

There are multiple versions of the same tour being offered because the different versions signify a different start time. For example: 'Dundurn Castle Tour 1' and 'Dundurn Castle Tour 2' are the same tours, but both start at different times. It is important for you to remember which tour you sign up for, and what time it starts to make sure that you will be allowed to attend on the day of.

What if I miss the deadline to sign up for a tour?

Have no fear! You can still choose to attend many of the activities being offered during MacQuest that do not require a sign up. These include the Cool Off Concert, the Creativity Hub, and the Paint Hall. I am not in first year. Can I sign up for a MacQuest: Discover your Campus, Discover your City tour?

If you are not in first year, you cannot sign up for a tour. These events are exclusivley for first year students.

Are MacQuest Tours accessible?

We have a wide variety of tours avalible, with a lot of accessible options. Please read through the descriptions of the tours to get a better idea of which tours would be the best fit for you.
